so,...just your opinion. What do you think the best performance of 2007 was in sprints (up to 400m), mid distance (800 thru 2 miles) and 5k plus? It doesn't have to be world record to qualify, just the most impressive performance either male or female.

The best performance of 2007 was Led Zeppelin's reunion concert.
Oh, umm... sprints - either Felix or one of Wariner's runs. Mid D, Lagat's double at world's, and long distance, Gebreselassie's world record in the marathon, or perhaps Tadesse at world XC.

If you compare the number of forum posts that referenced these spectacular performances this year, I think Webb takes the cake.
Tadesse in Mombasa. Held it together when the XC GOAT couldn't and came in 23 and 47 seconds ahead of the closest finishers.
Dean Karnazes treadmill run was probably the best performance of 2007!

I would say my record of 2:04:26 in the Berlin Marathon. That was the best performance not only in 2007. It was the best performance in the history of mankind. You are all a bunch of slow motherf***ers.
Restricting them to races I watched, performances which most impressed or inspired me, in no particular order:
Longyun Ren, Chinese NR in Beijing Marathon
Genta Matsuse, anchor leg stage record, Hakone Ekiden
Ryan Hall, US Olympic Trials
Polish 4x400 team WC bronze medal
Ngatuny Gideon, 3rd leg stage record, New Year Ekiden
Ndereba vs. Zhou, WC marathon
Mizuki Noguchi, Tokyo Int`l Women`s marathon
And, if we can add field events, the top 2 in the long jump at the WC.
why should we not be able to add field events? saladino's last round win has to be omne of the hoighlights of the year, and blanka vlasic's form. from a british perspective nicola sanders at the european indoors, idowu and douglas' 1 and 2 at the same event and of course the women's 400 in osaka
