I'm going to be visiting family in Moberly, MO but will have access to a car. Does anyone have any recommendations for places to run? Thanks.

are you serious? um...as a runner who has trained there in high school and summers for the last 10 years, i am sorry to inform you that there is not a great place to go. i would suggest going to the usatf website and search the database. there is rothwell park that has a paved path that offers a couple miles of running. if you go behind the rodeo arena or the 4-H building, there are a few trail heads that lead to some rather dangerous spots, dangerous in that it is very steep, horrible footing, and very close to the water at times. but you can find dirt roads and the like outside city limits. welcome to mid-missouri. hope you enjoy your stay in motown.
sadly, I am serious... but thanks for the advice. I'd heard about that park but wasn't sure if it was one of those 2 block by two block parks or not. I'll check out USATF.
You could make the half-hour drive Columbia. Lots of great places to run there. Let me know if you need any directions or routes or training partners.
There are plenty of gravel roads I'm sure. I don't think Finger Lakes State Park is too far, either. Part or possibly all of Finger Lakes is used for dirt biking (motrcycles), so be aware of that. had some friends who used to run there, however. PLenty of places around Columbia as mentioned.
check out your area for already marked runs using www.mapmyrun.com

Eric Bess?
That's a great option, especially for my long run. I'd love company. I usually run about 7:30 pace (I'm a female) and was looking to go between 12-15 miles on Saturday or Sunday (perferably Saturday b/c of family obligations on Sunday)
