For all of those lucky enough to be getting out of Minnesota and the midwest...Be prepared!
The Honolulu Marathon on December 9th will be wet!
It's been raining on and off (mostly on) for the past week.
The last time we had this much rain was in 1987.
Maybe it's a coincidence, but USATF had their convention this weekend in Honolulu and the last time they were here...was in 1987.
Or maybe it was the Washington Huskies that brought us the Seattle weather, but the weatherman is not too optimistic, telling us that it will rain the rest of the week.
Kapiolani Park (the site of the finish line) already has soggy grass
and come Sunday 25,000+ finishers will want to sit down somewhere to rest.
SAM's 5km ran yesterday and is the kickoff race to start Marathon Week had people running into 30mph Kona winds blowing the rain sideways and into their faces.
Temps. will be in the mid 70's and skies will be cloudy throughout the week so expect wet socks and shoes.
