Can somebody explain to me what is meant when a college coach tells you they do a "14 day cycle"?

bump. come on y'all
Most coaches do these in the summer when they have little responsibility. I rode 842 miles during my 14 day cycle in the late 80's.
This is the 2 week cycle I was given by a coach who has qualified both a men's and women's team to D1 Nationals and coached a 1:44 800m runner:
Week One
Monday: Long Run
Wednesday: Long Intervals (1200's or 1600's early in season/ 1000's and 800's late)
Friday: Tempo Run
Saturday: Recovery Plus (Recovery run that is a little longer than normal training runs)
Sunday: Off
Week Two
Monday: Marathon Pace Run early in season (80-90 minutes total in duration)/ Hills later in the year (get shorter every two weeks)
Wednesday: Moderate Intervals (1000's and 800's early/ 400's late in year)
Saturday: Race
Page 19-21 give the best examples. It just means instead of scheduling workouts on a weekly basis, things are done biweekly, meaning one week will have 3 or so quality workouts while the following week will be more of a "down" week and have a race in the place of 1 or 2 workouts.
