Who are these 3 guys who beat Dobson? Are they really on that level or is it just that they caught him in an unsharpened, base-building phase of his training?

Letherby is the real deal and I believe was a sub 4min miler. He used to own the roads of Atlanta in the late 90's. Olinger used to run for Ohio State as a steeplechaser.
heres some info the guy that won the race...
Yeah Letherby is the real deal. He won a Commonwealth games bronze medal in 2002 and has run 2.11 for the marathon. A true road racing stud.
Olinger is a pretty good runner. Ran 819 steeple and 1333 5k last year.
Might be a good sign for Robison...not an outstanding race, but perhaps a good sign for him getting back on track after many years struggles.

he is an excellent runner who i respect but i doubt he ran a sub 4 minute mile. can you find that he did somewhere?
Fagan is quite fit also, he ran in the 1:03 range at the BAA Half Marathon a little over a month ago, and that isn't a very easy course either.
It will be interesting to see what he does at the Houston Marathon in January.
he is not on the all time australian sub 4 mile list
you call yourself a runner and don't know the three guys who beat dobson? olinger, fagan and leatherby are all very well known and respected runners. leatherby is one of the best road racers australia has ever put out, olinger and fagan both graduated from college in the last two years, from ohio state and providence respectively. both have some pretty solid times under them
