What happened to Colorado in the men's race? Weren't they expected to contend, or at least to finish in the top three? Anybody know what happened?

To be honest, I don't feel as if they choked. They had a strong 1-3 but this team wasn't that talented. Everyone thought they would finish higher, including myself, but really only on the basis of Wetmore's magic. Neuman did not run well but will be a favorite for the title in two years.
where are all those posters from last year that were quick to get online and sing the praises of Wetmore and all the great Buffalo runners? Looks like Wisconson wins the 'all american team' this year.
I'm not saying they choked either. I'm asking what happened because I thought they were supposed to be one of the top teams in the race. Didn't follow their season much so I can't say myself.
Well they had a less than stellar showing from everyone except Vaughn. I don't know what it was. I remember in the year between their titles (was that 2005? They won it last year and 2004, right?) they had a bad year as well, when everyone ran very poorly, if I remember correctly.
Wetmore is the best coach in the country, in my opinion. But he doesn't ALWAYS get it right. So I think it was probably just an oddity in his string of successes. I don't know if he could explain it himself.
Pifer got 34th, I think, and was the 10th returner. Neuman didn't run well, and Harkrader wasn't so hot either. I think it just wasn't the Buffs day. And a poor day this year meant 7th, not 3rd or 4th, as it often does for the Buffs.
Sad =(.
