For all you haters, he just showed you all, he has big balls and he deffently didn't fall apart this year like he did lastyear! Great race Josh!

Dude, you idiots you've been predicting he would win every year. One out of four... means you're batting .250. Nice!
I'm happy for him, but you are basically admitting in your post that in the past he has fallen apart and didn't show big balls.
Of course he would get criticism up until now for that.
Whatever - today he won big time. He deserves it, I'm happy for him.

No one picked him as a freshman. That is 1/3. The fact that you would attempt to belittle this accomplishment shows how truly pathetic you are.
Yo, Dude, idiots were picking him to win as a frosh. I could care a less whether he won or not. It's just that for three and a half years morons have been picking him to win NCAA titles in cross and track without fail. And finally you rocket scientists are right. It's just as good as the other post predicting him to break 13 minutes. It gets really old, really fast.

agreed, dude just won the NCAA XC individual championship, that's one of the hardest things in college sports to do and you're still finding ways to trash him? relax man. He ran a hell of a race to hold Rupp off. Give him credit, ok, so he didn't win it all 4 years, how many have you won again?
Did you ever think there was a reason to pick him those years? Course records at Pre-Nats, undefeated, etc. It's not like people were picking a scrub, they were picking who they thought would win and this year he came throuh in the hardest individual NCAA race you can get. Congrats McDougal.

I was cheering for McDougal and am happy he won, but am curious where you're getting this idea that there were a bunch of "haters." He's generally well-received on this board. There's the occasional religious jokes, but I doubt there are a bunch of people who were "haters." If you're referring to the predictions that Rupp or Lomong will win, well then yes, people were wrong, but certainly not "haters."

I'm a huge KU fan, so this is kind of hard for me to say, but Jayhawk, you are a massive D-Bag. Take a deep breath, look at the BCS standings, and come back when you're feeling a little better

Hurray ffor Josh, He looked great today!
Okay morons, I never trashed McDougal. I trashed the idiots that McDougal syncophants. All I said is that I didn't care if he won or not. He's a fine runner. I'm just trashing all of the buttheads that post on here before every NCAA championship saying he's going to win. You idiots were finally right after almost four years of posting the same crap.
Go McDougal and Lamong!
116 miles this week.
LMAO
BOOYAA
I bet you were one of those rare geniuses who picked Simon Bairu back-to-back then a Rohatinsky win.
Actually no, I never get here and post about who I think will win. Trying to pick NCAA cross country winners is much too difficult. I've got nothing against McDougal, Rupp, Lamong, etc; I don't have a dog in the fight except Wissel and we all know that wasn't going to happen. My only reaction when I saw that he won was that it was an unexpected, not not a complete surprise.
Then I come to the message boards and see these ridiculous posts and I've had enough. I suggest you guys go back over the last three and a half years and read all of insane McDougal prediction posts. It's nauseating.
Settle down Jayhawk. I huge part of sports is trying to guess who will win contests.
I've even heard of this secret sub-culture that assigns "favorite" and "underdog" labels as well as a numerical value to determine the severity of "favorite" or "underdog" to participants to level the playing field on paper. Then people make their predictions backed up by their favorite currency.
Josh McDougal is like the Colts before last year. Favored almost every year, disappointing in the post-season, finally won one.
Obviously that is A huge part of sports, not I.
I like your analogy, Surprise!. You're right about it... it's that "see I told you so attitude" that got to me...
