Did any of the women get a qualifier for the trials?
Did any of the women get a qualifier for the trials?
results??!?!?!
I can't find any results for the marathon. The 8K results look correct and the 1/2 marathon times I checked look ok.
This race has been challenged since '05. Last year was a disaster on a variety of levels, I did notice they seemed to at least have baggage check fixed for this year (despite the earlier comment in this thread that it took folks a long time to find - at least this year they knew where to look!!). Some of the course changes seemed less than great - what was up with the u-turn on the parkway around 13 miles?
I was running the 8K so we were observing the marathon start and laughed at the "impromptu" start gun. The race was already starting late so at that point it is anyone's guess when the gun is going to go off, they could have done a lot better with the countdown. They has issues with the start gun last year as well - they can't seem to get that part right!
Weather held up early, but the slower runners were going to be freezing their butts off though with the wind and rain picking up!
this is rediculous the race has been over for hours and no one can find results yet?

Hey Temunt...what was your time? Just curious what top 20 was...
I think 20th place was around 2:36, so not as deep as previous years.
I believe the first woman ran around 2:42-43. I know there were a few women in the field trying to get the B standard.

There were several women that got under 2:48.

Sorry, just realized what I typed, but still there were several that got under 2:47
Got any names of the female qualifiers? Long shot I know.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission has declared open season on any heffers still out on the course at this time.
Abby Dean from Philadelphia Runner Track Club was one of the qualifiers...very well deserved after her two previous attempts this year (at Grandma's and Chicago) were hampered by the heat.
Oh and sorry I don't know the names of the other qualifiers, but there were several. Hopefully the results page will be functional soon.
"Chopper 6 was overhead as the male winner of the marathon crossed the finish line at around 9:37 a.m. We are told his name is Timothy Psitet, 27, of Kenya . His official winning time was 2:25:01. It was only the second time Psitet had run a marathon, and he did not finish his first attempt in Italy last year.
The first female marathoner to cross the finish line was Kristin Price, 25, from Raliegh N.C. Her time was 2:42:05."
Did Wardian run?
(of course I'm kidding....at least I hope so)
My in-laws signed up for the tracking of my race - they got my half marathon split at around 11:00 (I was finished at the time), and they got my finish time at around 1:00 this afternoon. They only got those two updates. The times they got were accurate for me.
I was the guy in the white top, maroon shorts. Yeah, timing was a bit off at mile 1 (45 seconds slow), and at the half (about 20 seconds off?). Much hillier course than I expected, and the 15 minute delay at the start was ridiculous. It's one of the best marathons around for those of us looking at low-to-mid 2:30s, though, as there were huge packs to run with.
The bigger disaster than the turnaround at 13 miles was the turnaround at 20 miles. That was more than a hairpin turn, and a guy right ahead of me (black uniform, arm-warmers), took what looked like a nasty spill on the wet ground. I slowed down to about an 8:00/mile jog for 10 seconds or so to not repeat that move myself. There has to be some way to avoid a turn like that.
wow this is absurd, how could the results possibly be taking this long?

Wardian won a 50 miler this weekend. No joke.
It was the same course as last year. Why all the surprises about the course?
Glad I wasn't there if they messed all the times up. GEEZ
When they posted some marathon results earlier it looked like some people who registered for the full had decided to only run the half. My guess is that they are trying to sort out who these people were. The initial winning time for the marathon that was posted was 1:28.
