I dont know if alot of you guys post on here regularly, but I am interested in hearing what your training was like. Specifically what you think made the difference and allowed you to dip under.
The reason I am asking is because I am a 4.04 guy and graduated college a couple years ago. I have decided to keep running for at least another year in the hopes I can walk away with this barrier broken. Having run 4 year in college and know there is no secret formula, I was wondering if anyone has any advice. Was there a season or year in which you started doing something differently then you had been? I've heard some people saying to up the mileage, but wanted to hear from some guys who have done it.
Here's been my problem in the past year. I come through 1200 in 2.59 feeling strong but my body gives out with about 200-250 to go. Its like it just seizes up. I can usually see the finish line when it really hits and will run a 64.
Where do I get that last lap from? I did about 80 mpw in college with standard workouts at appropriate times. I have run 1.52 for 800 and 14.35 for 5k. Any advice? Again I've been runnign for a long time and no there's no secret formula just looking for some advice.
