So i have had my first really lengthy period of training without an injury, I am fairly brittle so as much as I would like to do high milleage it just seems like it's not meant to be.
Anyway, so I have been having some pains in the bottom of my foot that really hampered the end of my xc season and contributed to me running poorly at conferences. Although, that's not a good excuse because i probably would have run like garbage anyway. I took some time off but it still hurts just as much.
I went to get it x-rayed today and they told me it was not a stress fracture. I was very pleased and assumed that I just needed more rest/ice/ibuprofin. The doctor calls me about 10 minutes ago saying that the radiologist called him thinking I have some "ligament, tissue, or tendon damage in my foot", he wasn't very clear at all and wants me to schedule an MRI. The pain is on the inside of my foot right below my ankle, it is swollen in an oval shape. IN a way that when I look at it from above, it's almost like the shape of a mini foot inside my foot with the lower shin being my ankle, if that makes any sense.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be? what kind of treatments I would need and if I can still at least run on it some days a week?
Thanks in advance, if you need more info just ask, sorry because i know theres like 9 million of these threads a day.
