I am out in California, and I swear I can't find dress pants, jeans under size 32, nor can I find size small shirts. What gives, where do I have to go??

oh come on dude - where are you coming from?
most everywhere else i've been has much selection in consumer goods than the u.s. - when it comes to clothes and consumer crap, the u.s. generally has an unlimited selection
if you are really stuck go to a friggin department store - in california go to nordstroms
it depends what your style is
His problem is real. You live in Europe, right? Nowadays in the States retailers stock very few pants sizes under 34. They may get one or two 32s, and that is it. Once they are gone, forget about it. Very few men wear a 32. 75% of people are overweight.
To the OP, I would check Banana Republic. They tend to carry more slim sizes than other stores. The fits are also slim so you won't look like you have a ton of fabric around you.
Well, waist sizes under 32" are less common in the US, so less pants this size are produced. Hence, stores tend to run out of them. I used to work at a retail clothing store and it was often the case that we would run out of size 28-30, because we only had a few in stock to begin with.
I don't know what price range you're looking at, but the Banana Republic tends to cater to thin people. They are a bit pricey, but they have outlets. And surely a large deparment store like Belk, JC Penny, or Macy's would have some 28-30 in stock.
i live in europe but i just moved from the states two years ago - i am a size 30 waistyou maybe right that smaller sizes are a bit hard to find but compared to most of europe, the selection is still vastly betterbanana republic is a good suggestion, i agreemaybe jcrew too

A 30 is a tough one. I wore 30x34 for a long long time, talk about having a hard time finding pants.
I've, uhh, "bulked up" to a 32, which makes things a tad easier.
yeah 30x34 i imagine would be tough
i am a bit stockier so to speak so i am a 30wx32l, sometimes 30wx30l works
The Gap may be an option too. Be careful though, as their pants sometimes fit big.
Also, remember that everything is full price in that store for about two weeks, then they start marking it down.
You should try finding 32x36. It's even hard to find that size clothing on the internet.
Let's not forget the ol' 29x32. IF stores carry anything under 30, which is rare, it's usually 28.
Go to a surf shop, they have clothes for skinny people
I was going to accuse you of being a troll but then I remembered I went to Old Navy last week to look for some jeans in size 32/30 or 30/30 and couldn't find a single pair.
had this problem shopping for pants for my hubby - nothing smaller than 32 on the racks. but at places like sears or macys you can have them order your size and they will either ship it to the store or your home.
clothes sizing is a disturbing trend that kind of shows how far the obesity epidemic has come. as a woman, i am around the same weight as i was in high school and yet i have gone from a size 8 to a size 4 because the manufacturers are trying to make fat people feel skinner by making bigger clothes with the same size.
my friends who are truly petite struggle to find anything that fits without alteration...this is why they had to create the double 0 size. double 0 is the old size 2.
own 2 pairs of jeans, both sz 31--very difficult to find.
1st pair: Von Dutch, at Costco, $20. here's the difference: i know who Von Dutch is, and I also am a Pinstriper, so i'm not a trendy jerk.
2nd pair: Levis at Macys, on sale, $30 with a gift card at Christmas time last year.
hope this helps.
just don't come to the midwest. I've learned to live with a 30" waist because I'm too cheap to get a tailor. Smallest size around here is 30" x 30", and it's a very generous 30" waist. My size is more like 28" waist, 29 inseam. Can't find that anywhere.
I wear Dockers pants, and they don't make anything smaller than 30 x 30. Actually, they make a 32 x 29. I guess they figure guys with short legs aren't likely to have a 30" waist.
Banana Republic occasionally works, but they're pricey and a little too metrosexual for me.
Welcome to the land of the FAT. Department stores like Nordstrom's have great clothes - all in fat sizes.
Your best bet is to find the style, brand that you like and look for it online in your size. Men with a 30 inch waist in Europe are pretty common - we're freaks of nature in the U.S.
If you have an eight inch or more difference from jacket size to waist size (e.g. 40 to 32), be prepared to have some major surgery on your suits when purchasing.
try PAC SUN, I like their jeans and they are a good price.

NYC.
For good stuff at good prices, try Century 21 and Daffy's.
I get my jeans and pants @ EXPRESSMEN... 31x32 they always seem to hsve them
Is 32 waist for a runner considered to be fat?
