BIG props to UVA - seems like they are building a fantastic program. NC State is a great scalp to have.
What was the course like? Those times seem awfully slow.
I don't know but it's been raining in Virginia for a while.
Looks like it was a dual meet on the men's side. My Hokies have some strange results, it looks like they could have been 3rd. Their usual 2nd man (Berlin) came in almost dead last, and their top 7 order was all off compared to previous meets.
It rained much of the day Thursday and all day yesterday. I was not on the course, but I live about an hour away. I just got back from my trail run and it was extremely muddy and slippery. I have no doubt the grass was quite wet and slow.
Two things.
1. Kollar 1st, Heineking 4th, W. Smith (7th?), and Waggoner 14th are all from Ohio - way to represent! Too bad OSU couldn't keep you here!
2. Anyone notice Duke ran 5 frosh, 1 soph, and 1 junior? Any Dukies care to elaborate on how a program believes is will succeed in running frosh at the ACC meet? Where is there team?
looked like a dual meet between UVA and NCS
Brittany Tinsley, 5th is women's race, also from Ohio.
Course is fairly difficult. Quite a few good hills. Mostly very good grass, but wet due to all the rain. However, course was in good shape, just a couple of soft spots.

Well Duke actually ran 5 frosh, 1 soph, 1 junior, and 1 senior. The reason they ran this team is because it is the best team they have. From prior results it looks like many athletes fail to improve after their freshman year. Although these froshies have made pretty solid gains over their high school days (waggoner especially) we'll see if it pans out in the future. Hopefully it will.
Anyone care to elaborate on what happened to Miami? I was thinkin' a top 5 was possible this year. Kinda suprising they finished where they did.
F*** You.
duke is a wasteland for talent, look how spooner did he won the Penn mile over Gras... what the hell happened to him
What's up with Duke women? Two years ago they were favorites for ncaa; now sixth in their conference.
The amount of talent that Duke has recruited over the past few years is incredible. Unfortunately, many of their most talented distance runners have been injured their entire careers at Duke. Tia Ferguson and Whitney Anderson were both ACC Freshman of the year but haven't run more than a handful of races since. If you look at the roster, the team should be a national contender. Whether it is their training program, training surface, or another issue I don't know.
coach kritter

Dude get a life. They could have, should have, what ever. The fact is they didn't and they won't, so give it a rest with this crap.
miami almost had them. I mean, wow, four of the last five in the race are from the same school. That's kind of embarrassing. And by kind of, I mean completely.

What are you talking about? Fifth, and just 9 points out of 3rd, is a pretty good result for the VT men. Considering that their #2 (and 3:40 1500m) man didn't perform, it's even better. I was hoping someone would know (and tell me) what happened to him, but instead I get your a-hole response. Thanks.
