Waking up in the middle of the night.

You might be overtrained. Check your heart rate and think about what kind of mileage you've been running.

are you sweating when you wake up? you may be overtrained, have mono, could be a variety of things.

I had the same exact problem, I had been under a lot of stress but NOT running all that much. When I woke up I was always in a puddle of my sweat, I began sleeping on a beach towel and when I woke up I would just throw the beach towel out and go back to sleep. Turned out I had Mono. Get a blood test, never hurts.

Not sweating, not running too much either. I started running again last week after 8 months off. This problem has been going on for about a month now however. Just every night with 15 min of 3:20 am i wake up.

something is happening externally that is waking you . maybe a neighbor coming home from work late shift and slamming a door/cardoor etc. maybe FW's wife sneakin in and out of bed

Run more so you're more tired.

I know what I would tell you to do if you were waking up at 4:20 every night...

I read a book like that once. It was because the former owner of the house slaughtered his family at exactly 3:20 am. Assuming that is not your problem, I'd be inclined to take a couple Benadryl before bedtime just to break the cycle.

Can you not fall back asleep? I always wake up during the middle of the night for a couple of seconds. Sometimes I know what time it is if I'm looking at the clock and then I just as easily fall back asleep. Other times its just to toss and turn, vivid dream, etc.

However, if you are waking up at 320am and not falling back asleep then there is something else.

How on earth did I get so jaded? Life's mysteries seem so faded.

not "middleagedom" im 24. I wake up takes about ten minutes to fall back to sleep. I googled it, and some possible things included... external noise, sleep apnea, diabetes(lowest point of blood sugar throughout day and body shoots adrenaline to wake me up), Liver cleansing cycle, and some more things....

It happens to me all the time. In fact, I go through phases of waking up almost exactly every 90minutes throughout the night. As long as you get back to sleep in 10 mins it's not a problem.
