Not having a life
Letsrun never made me nod out, throw up, or become tiny-pupiled, so no, it's not like heroin. It is a nice (well, it's actually more mean than nice) place to hang out and read a variety of opinions on a variety of topics.
i find the titles on the messgae board front page irisistable!
You'd better get hooked on phonics my friend.
I think it's partly that you generally only know a few runners from one context (your team or club), and so it's interesting to see how runners from other contexts think and to see what their opinions are on both running-related and non-running-related matters...it gives you a sense of being in a larger community centered around a major aspect of your life, a feeling which is hard to get in most day-to-day living circumstances (with the exception maybe of a team/club you may be in...but like I said that is a somewhat limited context).
it made me realize that me and like 3 guys on my team arnt the only cool runners.
going through the threads is like panning for gold - sometimes (every few months) you find a real nugget usually from someone like Dr Daniels and it makes it all worthwhile.
The ability to anonomously insult, correct spelling and grammar and pontificate are like crack. There is also the thrill of seeing your post on the forum actually get follow-on responses.
simple design and no registering.
.... not to mention that sometimes i am on the floor laughing....
