The Office: first season

absolutely, the first season was the pilot season, and while it had its moments it was quite slow. The second season is tremendous though and the characters really develop. Don't give up on the office just yet, you definitely won't regret it.

I actually saw the second season first, and yes, it is much better than the first.

i think i may like the 2nd season more than the 3rd, although im waiting for the 3rd to come out on DVD to make that decision

You need to watch season one again, it takes a bit to get used to the humor. I've seen every Office episode and have season one and two on DVD. My favorite episodes are the pilot and diversity day, both on season one.

And the basketball episode is priceless.

In the third season, Kevin gets a lot funnier. He was always good, but in the third season he just makes me crack up a lot more.

I saw the BBC version of the Office first and loved it. I remember watching the first few episodes of the American version and being disappointed because they used many of the EXACT SAME jokes/plot lines as the BBC version, but they did not translate very well. I believe they were, like another poster said, pilot episodes to get the show going.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the US version of the Office has taken off and now stands on its own, alongside the BBC version, as an incredibly funny show!

I just watched the entire 1st season on a trip from Des Moines and got it right when the DVD came out and i agree with everyone above me that says the 2nd and 3rd season are funnier. I think the 3rd season is a little more serious though then the second but still just as funny.

When Jim impersonates dwight at the beginnning of an episode is probably my favorite scene in the office.

i think my favorite part is when they go through the folder of complaints that dwieght has on jim. then they show jim explaining some of them. putting the coins into the phone then taking them all out so dwieght hit himself in the head. that was a good scene.

My favorite scene is when it was found out that a guy (can't remember his name) was gay in the office and Dwight asked Jim where he could get "Gaydar". At the end of the episode Jim sent Dwight a metal detector with "Gaydar" written on it. Dwight went around checking people and then turned it on himself. It beeped when he went over his belt buckle. The episode closed with Dwight looking very concerned.

When Michael calls in needing a ride to the hospital because he burned his foot on his George Foreman grill and Dwight hits a telephone pole tearing out of the parking lot. Classic.
