One of the videos on WCSN is Bolt holding off Spearmon in the 200. Here's her take on the early part of the race:
Spearmon is out well. Bolt isn't out as well as Speramon but Usain Bolt is very very tall.
Nice.

I think her point was that Bolt started slowly because he's very tall so accelerating comes a little slower, and he's not so fast on the turn.
But Ms. Lewis didn't really explain this.
Carol Lewis is horrible. Shes 1/4 the reason why nobody watches Track on TV
I remember when Carol Lewis said the second leg of the
4x100 is the longest. How stupid is that?????

well it kind of is, or can be anyway. it's a common strategy to put your best 200m man on 2nd leg because you can stretch out the zones so he/she ends up running up to 120m
That's not necessarily stupid. The legs of a relay don't have to be exactly even because the runners can exchange in different parts of the zone. The fastest runner in a 4x100 can be strategically placed on the second leg of the relay to receive the baton early and exchange it late, burning a quick leg down the backstretch in between.
I don't know if that's what Carol Lewis was talking about and I'm not terribly eager to give her the benefit of the doubt, since she has said many other stupid things in that horribly grating voice of hers.
i know it has the POSSIBILITY to be the longest and that
is a common strategy. But they are all 100m long.
I know I'll get bashed for sayin this, but I really don't think she's all that bad. I met her once at a women in sports conference and she was one of the friendliest people I've ever met in my life. I'm glad that there's at least one famous commentator whos not a total d-bag in real life.
I'm not exactly a fan, but she's ok.
I think she's not super articulate, but she is knowledgeable. Examples in the thread above show that -- she gets at subtlety that only someone who's competed would get. She's just not very adept at translating that into simple understandable terms in the little time given to TV announcers.
Try going on TV some time and explaning arcane subjects in the 3 seconds TV producers give you.
Could do worse than a 3x Olympian and someone with a lot of track experience in the family.
She has nice breasteses.
