One of my friends recently went on a trip to Tennessee, and brought back a good deal of fireworks with him. We went with a few other people to a nearby golf course to set off one of them. After we set it off, we ran back to the car, but we saw some people coming out of their house so we hid for a minute. After it looked like they were back inside, we got in the car and took off. We decided to go to one of my friend's houses who lives just a few minutes away. However, just as we were turning onto his street there was another car behind us, which then followed us onto his street, which is a dead end. By the time we were on the street, it was too late to get away. We decided to just go into the kid's driveway, but we couldn't get that far in because one of his parent's cars was already in it. Unfortunately, there was a streetlight right behind our car and the car following us stopped for a minute or two before turning around.
We're worried that the person will contact the police and give them my friend's license plate and somehow track us down. The possible charges that could be brought against us are possession/usage of fireworks without a permit and trespassing, although they wouldn't have good proof of either.
As far as trespassing goes, too, the golf course was really easy to get on to (we just had to walk on from the street) and there weren't any signs or anything deterring trespassers.
Does anybody know what might happen to us?
