BONDS records DO NOT COUNT. Dopers don't count, Clemens, McGwire, Bonds, Armstrong, Geracie, all a bunch of phony athletes.

This is all Bud Selig's fault, it was all well and good when McGuire and Sosa were cranking out home runs becuase it meant big money for baseball after a few years of struggle. Now when a juiced up loser actually gets close to a record that Selig has some personal interest in he gets all high and mighty. F*** you Bud Selig, you should be forced to clap for the monster you helped create.
Barry isn't doing anything any else hasn't, except crank out massive numbers of home runs.
If MLB really cared they would have tested for performance enhancing drugs back then.
As far as I know they weren't banned or tested for. I guess he didn't break any rules.
In my book, Roger Maris holds the single season home run record and Hank Aaron holds the all time record.

Are you just saying that or do you actually have a book?

and you are sure that neither of them used amphetamines? despite all the evidence of how rampant they were at the time? every bit of (albeit anecdotal) evidence is that amphetamine use was much more rampant then roids ever were.
the records from the 60's thru early 80's are severely tainted by the use of drugs.
that is why the old school players are so supportive of bonds, mcgwire et al. they understand what the sport has been all about for decades.

Thank you for speaking the truth, and not having double standards like the majority of the posters on this board. Drugs were in baseball long before Aaron ever came around, and it's common knowledge that the early Tour riders were doped up on heroin. Bonds is just as worthy of his records as anyone else who ever played the game.
I have a neighbor who rails on Bonds constantly but is a huge NFL fan... when I try to subtly point out his hypocrisy he gets an eyes glazed over look that is just priceless.
nascar lovers are another crowd that love to hate Bonds but willingly accept cheating as a normal part of their sport.
Let me ask one question. Who is to say guys like Roger Maris or Hank Aaron didn't do drugs???? I mean they didnt even test them back then and you think these guys didnt do that stuff i highly doubt it. Steroids, like it or not, do not hit home runs. I don't like it either but shit what do you believe anymore????
I am a SF Giants fan, but yes I just can't get excited about Bonds' "record."
Jason
This is such BS, everyone else did it or does it so it's OK. That is a load os crap, if it is OK why is he denying it, because it is cheating. His career would have been over several years ago, he is a fraud.
Next time i get a speeding ticket, i'll take it to court. My argument will be "that everyone else does" so it is OK.
Yes, Bud is in some trouble presently. I just hope enough writers keep him out of the Hall Of Fame on the first year of his eligibility.

Doesn't Sadaharu Oh hold the all-time home run record? Last time I checked, 868 is higher than 755...
PERFECT! Cheating is f***ing cheating no matter what, quit defending this loser and his non "accomplishment".
Bonds is a juicing, cheater who should be banned from baseball! It's a proven fact.
61 was so special!
61*, did it in more games than Ruth had to get 60.
Babe Ruth played in the White Minor Leagues, his record doesn't matter in the big leagues after integration.

Name ONE high profile athlete that you are sure DID NOT do drugs.
He hit more homers in a year than some TEAMS did, I don't care if it was integrated or not the guy was hitting homers at an unbelievable rate when others just weren't doing it.
