2:01
DNF!
2:08
i know im in better shape then 2:08 its 64 sec pace.
I say 1:58
That really isn't a good workout at all, I would say maybe 2:07. 3 minutes recovery when doing 400s is HUGE. Do the Kosmin test and you will know.
personally I don't think you can really tell much from workouts
I'm much faster than some people who consistently beat me in track workouts, I know it might be hard to get into a track race in the summer, but just get some of your friends to pace you
seriously 2:08 seems a good guess. If you'd done it with 1 min rest then it equates to about 4:10 for 1500 and therefore around 2 flat for 800 if you've got good speed. With 3 mins recovery, you don't have much chance.
i'd say 2:04
I find it amusing people think this person can run close to 2 mins. 67s is equal to 4:11 pace which is equivalent to ~ 2 mins for 800m if the session was with 1 minute recovery.
But for 3 minutes recovery i would say this person would struggle to break 4:30 from experience of many athletes i have coached.
Therefore if they would struggle to run 4:30 then i would say this person would struggle to break 2:10 my self.
I mean its like 3 minutes recovery!!!!
i think this workout indicates close to a 430 mile. t think 430 and 200 are close to equal times... especially for a high schooler thats underdeveloped in the endurance area.
That seems like an odd workout to get in shape for the 800. Too much recovery and way to slow. Thats like a mid season workout for a miler. I'd say not knowing any of your pr's or whether or not you are a pussy in races 2:04.
2:12....im giving you the benefit of the doubt.
3:00 is ridiculous!
We used to say 10x400 with 90s recovery was a good indication of mile pace.
10x400 with 3:00 is ridiculous though, I would say no faster than 2:08.
Sure, it's only 64.0 and 64.0 back to back, but the workout shows no indication that you could hold 64's.
runners are different..., when i was 17, i used to get so tired (amlmost dead) after 8 * 200 in about 28secs each with 1 minute of recovery time between each set.
and i still managed to run 1m 57secs in a competition at the end of the season. i didnt even know how i did, the race ended so quikly i dont even rememver what happened exactly, people are different you cant just estimate competition times from ramdom training times..
Difficult to predict times especially from a workout with such a large recovery, we used to do 4x800 with 2 minutes rest so i cannot see any good from doing quarters in 67 with a 3 minute rest...
Based on that i have to go more with Mel but i think i would bump it up to maybe 2:15. Don't be too discouraged, i had a teammate with a similar PR his senior year in HS and his senior year in college he ran a 3:50 1500.
As a jr in HS I did 13 x 400 at 67 (don't remember the rest but it was less than 3:00). I ran 2:10 around that time and later in the season ran 2:04.
As a sr in HS I did 8 x 400 in 63.5 (again less than 3 minutes rest) and that year my average race was 2:05 with a few 2:03s and neg split (62.4, 60.1) PR of 2:02.5
I was a miler though.
8 x 400 in 67 with 3 minutes rest is probably worth 2:10 on a good day. I think I could do that workout as a sophomore and I only ran 2:14 that year.
Try cutting the rest to 1 minute, you'll get more out of the workout. Also, do some hill sprints (10 x 80m full recovery) to increase your leg power.
