The Huesden Athletics Meeting produced a large number of PB and National Records. Does anyone have any ideas why this happens there and not at any of the Major Meetings around Europe?

Same reason why the stanford meets are so succesful. A close field, no world record holders that destroy the rest of the field. Good athmosphere, small stadium, completely packed, pacers for every heat and the usually not much wind, partly because of the stadium. But the main reason is the vast number of B athletes in the distance events in combination with the absence of A athletes. Hope this helps.
The shape of the track - 110-115 m straights, 85-90 m curves.
