You wont find DC making any comments about cross country, it isnt on his radar. You wont find A.S. trying to take any credit for coaching him as that appears to be either Mick Woods or Mark Rowland. Nice try though.
If Thie is going to run, then I'm not,not going to get beat again.
If I decide to let steve out to play, Kenny and Jackass will have no chance.
Since when have we had 4 "selections" for an event when only 3 can run? And with there being almost a second between Easton and Meadows how can you justify picking her? Of course it's politics. And no, not a Scottish view: one that most level-headed people would agree with. Should I charge you with having and English view? No, I won't. I don't care where Easton's from: 4th ranked in the country should be part of a 6 person team (Meadows is 12th ranked). Decisions like this do not help the sport one bit as athletes lose motivation and are unclear as to what they have to do to get picked. Pretty basic stuff.
There has been the facility to enter 4 people for an event where only 3 can run for some time. Because you didnt know about it doesnt make it really worth comment. UKA have taken the opportunity because there are 4 women with the A standard and one could easily pick up an injury in the run in to Osaka, so it seems a pretty sensible decision to me.
Meadows has run faster 400 splits than Easton. You are only choosing to use the current 400 rankings to justify your claim. If Meadows raced Easton in a relay now Meadows would beat her. Please explain where the politics comes in ? As for the Scottish bias - there is a more obvious ommision which you havnt mentioned - presumably because he isnt Scottish and therefore you care less ?
"Meadows has run faster 400 splits than Easton" - OK. When? And since this is the case, why does the selection policy not mention this as grounds for selection?
Also, why are you playing the Scottish card? Very defensive. I don't Easton at all.
Who's the more obvious omission in your eyes?
It is crap like this that makes people angry with UKA, why can't they just say that the selection was difficult and in order to kill two birds with one stone and the precarious nature of Becky Lynne's injury problems we have decided to take Jenny Meadows as 800 back up and 400 relay cover, instead of coming up with some protracted crap about 'relay splits', that is just bullshit.
Forget EASTON and MEADOWS, they should take my little stevie wonder
Little being the operative word!
As AC asks, who is the obvious omission? Hill, McCormick, Thompson?? Certainly neither of them deserved to go on current form. I'd like their coaches to come on and explain what went right and wrong this season especially as a couple of them are publically funded.
"If Meadows raced Easton in a relay now Meadows would beat her."
My favourite line! Which crystal ball are you using? The one which puts 15 year old kids on podium / top8 lottery?!
This is why selectors and UKa get a bad press. And the BBC AAAs coverage showed that very few athletes knew what they had to do to go to Osaka. And as your are one of those selectors, please take our comments as constructive criticism: we want things to improve.
how do u know ?

Do I understand you correctly, you want Darrell Maynard, Lyndsey Dunn and Mick Woods to explain to you why The above named athletes aren't leading the World in the 800, 1500 and 5000m?
Would you like them to post an explanation here, or report to you privately?
go back to sleep, Wood's does not coach Thompson any more
trust me, its true
Is that you Wardy you pug nosed gremlin?

No, I do not think that it is appropriate or necessary to get a personal reply. Nor do I think I need an explanation as to why they are not leading the world!! That is a stupid suggestion. I do think it is necessary for someone to explain why athletes in receipt of public-funding are seemingly under-performing.We all live in a world of targets and performance indicators. If the target isn't met then it is appropriate that someone provides an explanation.
If either of the athletes named above are not in receipt of public funds then an explanation isn't necessary.
If they are in receipt of public funds then it would be constructive to hear their views in order that we can all learn from their experiences. In fact it should be a necessity that some sort of explanation is given. If people don't want to be accountable then don't take the cash and support.
Indeed, since Graham Hedman received lottery funding I demand to know what he bought for breakfast. He must be held to account.
Shut the fukc up you pompous prick.
