Zersenay Tadesse ran a 27:00 solo 10k in the All-Africa Games today.
Tadesse could have a small psychological advantage given his underdog defeat of Bekele at World XC. However, will it be enough to overcome Bekele's sheer awesomeness?

Kenenisa will destroy him.. and so will seleshi.
There is no running away from kenenisa ... if he is at the top of his game.
Not with Bekele running 7:26, closing in 2:24. Run it fast or run it slow, Bekele will sit and destroy the silver medalist in the last 400m.
If Bekele is in good shape Tadesse will get left for dead.
Does anyone think the heat will be a factor in Osaka for the 10000? I think Bekele has to be the favorite no matter what, but what's to say there won't be a repeat of Mombasa? What happens if Bekele really goes for it early on and overheats? Someone else who wasn't as aggressive could sneak in with a victory. I would assume a slow tactical race would favor Bekele the most.

It will not be as bad as Mombasa.
Osaka is 2400 miles from the equator, Mombasa is less than 300...the heat/humidity difference is several worlds. Kenenisa will dominate whether the race is won in 26:20 or 28:20, there's no way he blows up again and if he doesn't blow up nobody can hang or kick with him over 10,000m.
1.Kenenisa
2.sileshi
3.kenyan
4. tadesse
Although realistically Bekele will win, I can't help but root for the little guy (btw Tadesse is 5'1").
Bekele is so good he seems like he's not enjoying it... just born and raised by doctors to run. Tadesse is Eritrea's first superstar.
YES YOU ARE RIGHT TADESSE IS GOOD RUNNER BUT NOT CONSISTANT.
I WISH HIM TO RUN MARATHON AND NO BODY WILL TAKE FROM HIM TO HAVE GOLD NI THE OLYMPIC. HE IS THE BEST ROAD RUNNER
Tadesse is great. The advantage he has is that he is more consistent than Bekele. Which Bekele will we get in Osaka: the one that ran away from Mottram to scorch a 7:26, 3K, or the one that Mottram buried over the final kilometer; or the one that Tadesse almost retired in Mombasa.

Ahh, good old letsrun
it'll be a great race especially if its hot and humid like mombassa....a lot of them will be dropping back like fly's. While physically superior to most of his competition, his toughness is questionable(KB). His toughness will be tested if the weather is tough. Tadesse is a tough runner, he will run you or himself to the walls which ever is first, as was evident in the last two XC races. He could have settled for second last year, but ran to the limit in chase of victory to finish third or fourth i'm not sure. And this year despite the heat and humidity he and KB ran to the limits and he came out victorious.
It'll all depend on the weather, Nasty humid weather favors Tadesse, perfect weather will favor KB and Shilshni. It'll be fun to watch.
He won with seeming ease in Athens, and it was pretty damn hot there. I know that was a few years ago, though. I dont think Osaka is quite as hot adn humid as Athens, and certainly not as hot as Mombasa. I think bekele takes it..he is obviously back in fine form.
Having said that, it would be a thrill to see the little guy from the little country take it. I got a soft spot for the underdog.
f***, stupid, moron.
kenenisa beat tadesse 19-1. almost all XC EXCEPT MOBASSA.
with regard to track there are more than five or six athletes better than tadesse.
keneinsa, silishi, kogo, mosop....
yes keneisa DF but you know it can happen once in a blue moon
You guys ought to show more respect for Tadesse. I know he can't beat Bekele (when the man is on nobody can, he has never lost a 10,000 from the time he won at Worlds in 2003). Nevertheless, Tadesse is a beast, just check his credentials: bronze medalist in the Olympic 10k, World road race champion (20k), World cross country champion (runner up in 2005, 4th in 06), a 26:37 PR, and now a solo 27:00 to absolutely destroy some quality runners (like Gebre Gebremariam and Boniface Kiprop (5th in the Olympic 10K)). He will be in the top 3 in Osaka battling Sihine for 2nd.
I DO RESPECT TADESSE, I RESPOND TO BSG. HE SAID TADESSE IS CONSISTANT THAN KENENISA.
iskander,
you suck it like the time big
bekele consistant than haile also but tadesse
