These guys PR's are 10-15 seconds off American Record in 5k. Ritz for excample isn't near braking 13. Maybe Webb, no one else even legat
The American Record is 12:58, and Lagat ran 12:59 twice last year. But you are right that Solinski and Webb and Ritz all have a pretty big gap between themselves and that record.
Mottram had a rough race, and after talking a little smack, I think he is open for criticism. I also think he is probably going to be one of the top athletes at worlds again this year. when the time comes. WCs isn't until the last few days in August- he can't be washed out yet, because he probably isn't trying to peak yet. He does talk big, but getting beaten by Bekele doesn't mean he doesn't "walk the walk". According to that logic, there have only been a small handful of guys who have "walked the walk" in the past three years (if you exclude the DNF at World Cross). Getting beat by Bekele doesn't mean you suck- everyone gets beat by Bekele. Which runners have beat him and have never been beaten by him?
