I have never heard Renato Canova speaking about VO2max sessions, only Aerobic Power like 10x1000m at 95%V5000m Rec 3min or using fartlek like 8:00 / 6:00 / 4:00 / 2:00 / 1:00 fast @10kpace recovery 2:00 moderate.
But never for example fartlek 1min fast (110% V5000m) 1 min slow or 10x1000m in 2:30 R3min.
It seems that they never train faster than 10K or 5K pace.
Must I understand that elite athletes never train at 3Kpace or faster with the goal to develop or maintain their VO2max.
I thought that to develop VO2max, we have to train close to 100%MAV with 400s and not only at 10Kpace with 1000s or 2000s !?
Could someone enlighten me on this !?
