I don't think any of them would consider, but I have a hard time with more than these,
Sue Parks, Eastern Michigan
Harvey, Illinois
Rita, MSU
Hennr, George Mason
Judy, Indiana (let go?)
Beth Alfrod (head coach)
I seriously can't think of another?

This is a serious question (which may be a mistake on this message board) but could you name some of the young female distance coaches out there, or ones that seem to be doing a good job. We just might not have heard of them and I would like to follow how they do.
thanks.
The key point is young. I am sure the listed women don't want there age revealed, but by young I would go under 35, maybe even under 30. What is being listed a women who are almost or well over 40 years old.
Who is out there who is out there like the SMU XC coach or someone well under the radar...
Kelly Cox is not the distance coach at JMU.
bump
How many Purdue coaches were at our state meet?
Why would Hunt leave UVa for Purdue? He has good resources, a building program, supportive relationship, and a weaker conference/region. Purdue sounds like a downgrade to me.

Because he doesnt actually COACH at UVA!

For XC or T&F - Girls or Boys. If you are talking about the Boys' State T&F Meet, they were probably coaching their kids at the NCAA Regional...
Who freaking cares? What is your point? There are plenty of state meets to go to besides Illinois...
To my earlier question, I would be interested in those young female coaches in their early to late 20's. Basically, some of the aspiring young professionals who are doing good things. There are always lists on here about the young men coaching, it would be good to know the young women.
thankyou.
Agreed.
Name m one person that Brad has actually coached at UVA? He is Dunn's GA-level assistant. At Purdue he would have the ability to actually coach a group and not just drive a van. As poor as Purdue is, I am sure they have resources equal to UVA.
I Dont care either, but I'm guessing the question has to do with the allowable 2 coaches allowed at a single sex meet.
How is Purdue poor?
I remember when Brad used to fetch me my Chipotle' fajita burrito for lunch and sometimes I would let him keep the change.
Those were fond memories. Thanks Brad. See ya T J

Purdue is at the bottom of the Big Ten in operating expenses for all sports. Their relative spending on men's track as a percent of their overall budget is consistent with the rest of the big ten, however. UVA would fall in the middle of the Big Ten in total expenses. UVA already has an operating budget for the men's program that's 50% greater than Purdue's and is a smaller % of the overall budget. UVA is likely to increase spending on men's track before Purdue does.

For those of you still reading, here are the football numbers (Revenues/Expenses/%):
Ohio State: 60.8M/32.3M/53%
Michigan: 50.4M/12.8M/25%
Penn State: 40.6M/14.1M/35%
Wisconsin: 34.3M/12.3M/36%
Michigan State: 33.6M/15.9M/47%
Iowa: 31.8M/20.8M/65%
Purdue: 22.2M/11.2M/50%
Illinois: 19.1M/8.4M/44%
Minnesota: 16.7M/7.9M/47%
Indiana: 15.4M/10.6M/69%
Virginia: 19.6M/18.1M/92%
I'm not sure what's included in "Expenses" but I'm guessing that expenses for new facilities might be included to some degree since Virigina's men's basketball team had expenses of $22M and revenues of only $11M. I know they just build a new arena...
I thought it was interesting that Indiana hired a just-graduated female runner from Michigan. Jack needs to look at doong something similar from a proven distance powerhouse team. Not to just focus on Michigan's women, but Karen Harvey was immediately successful coming stright into the Big 10!
Your stats are interesting--but as a former runner, I have some insight as to why the operating budget is lower than other Big 10 schools (and likely why it's lower than UVA). Purdue does not take a percentage of student tuition and put it toward the athletic department budget. All (significant) athletic department funds come from:
1) Revenue Sports
2) Sponsorships
3) Conference Funds
4) John Purdue Club member donations
One of the reasons our facilities are not as nice as others, our budgets aren't as big, or our recruiting has suffered, is we simply have never had the big budget as other schools. Purdue has made an emphasis on keeping tuition in the lower half of the Big 10, which among other things, maintains the current system of no tuition for sports.
And bump--I'm really curious to hear who will end up in the position.
I've talked with someone from Purdue and they say it's official.. CONNER HOLT is hired to oversee the distance group at Purdue.
Holt is an Irishman with University of Oklahoma records in the indoor 5k and outdoor 10k.
Will this hire help turn their lack-luster distance program around?
