Ok, so I have been running atleast 60 miles a week for over almost 3 months now. This after training for a duathon for the 6 weeks before that. I was riding 60-70 a week and running about 50 during the duathlon training. That was April. Since then I have been running close to 10 a day with a long run of 13-16 each week. I take a day off about once every 1-3 weeks. My legs have felt horrible for like 3-4 weeks now. The hams and quads are always tight and the quads are sore. I do a lot of running on a crushed gravel trail. I was running all of my runs at about 6:10-6:25 pace for quite sometime until the last 2 weeks. I was not doing workouts though. I have tried to slow my easy runs down to 6:30-6:45 adn started workouts. I still feel horrible in the legs! Any suggestions. My guess is to slow down the easy days more and do two two a days of like 8/4 and one long run of 12-13 and no more. 60 a week. What am I training for? Good question. Maybe 1-2 xc races this fall and a few road races before I get in the track.
Why do my legs feel like shit? This is not new training for me but I am getting older.
