Good mate of mine is a pretty decent runner, like myself. We've been training together for near 4 years. Yeah, so as I was saying, when we first started running he told me his best time for the marathon was 2:31. He had me beat by 5 minutes.
Yesterday I was over at another mate's place and noticed that he had the results booklet from the same marathon in 98. The lad flat out lied; he ran 2.41, a whole 10 minutes slower than what he had told me.
Many others have heard him declare this time and its given him a certain status over the years because of it. I don't want to ruin my friendship, but this geezer's got to get it back somehow right? Any ideas what I should do?
