I guess his idea of trianing for his comeback to the NFL was to roll a big fat one and smoke it up!

I read this earlier today. All you can do is just shake your head. Oh, he also has social anxiety disorder, so he naturally gravitates to a doobie when he feels tense.
Sad
Why can't the doctors just prescribe it to him and exempt him from the drug test for pot?

Because, shockingly, doctors don't always think that the people who are self-medicating are choosing the best medications. In this case, it's unlikely that any MD is going to think that pot is the ideal medication for S.A.D.
It's easy enough to criticize Ricky, and I suppose that for a guy in his positoon, knowing he's going to be tested, yeah, he's showing a lack of control. But marijuana is certainly not a "performance-enhancing" drug when it comes to football (though maybe it's enjoyment-enhancing) and frankly, the NFL should worry about other things.
I don't understand why people get so angry that he's smoking pot. The league is filled with steroids and violent criminals!
I'm not sure which is dumber, Ricky Williams or the fact that marijuana is on the banned substance list. I suppose at least they can say it's banned due to it being illegal and that generally it's a drug used by people with bad judgement, but it certainly isn't on par w/ steroids.
I suppose Ricky wins that one b/c there's no justification for his stupidity.
the nfl should start testing for alcohol. Way worse stuff than what rickeys on.

MLB should, it's certainly killed a lot more players than marijuana.
I wonder if that means he'll come back to play for the Argos again.
Players HATE the pre season. They hate it so much a lot of them retire just before it starts. Barry Sanders. Robert Smith. On and on. They will tell you they think of playing the season until the reality of having to go through pre season sets in, then they realize it isn't worth it any more.
Ricky just gets out of preseason now. I think he's smart enough to know that when he was toking. Now, there's no guarantee he'll be reinstated in September, but there's a good chance he will be and he decided missing the preseason was worth the gamble.
Totally agree. While they are at it they may as well ban chew, they wouldnt let a player smoke on the field.
Welcome to the weird world of America, where it is worse to smoke a joint or call someone a nappy headed ho than it is to beat your wife or get a DWI.
