the only time those guys saw improvement was when Pete was in charge of the guys. the head coach was clueless. and i would only hope she got screwed worse than how she screwed him out of his position

Someone must have the inside scoop. Usually in these situations, there is either an "incident", or a major life-changing event for the coach - health, marriage, etc..
Anyone have more info?
Gentlemen, the job is already taken... it will be handed over to Assistant John Guarino, who helped develop Sanya Richards in high school. He positioned himself well, assisting first at Florida State, and then when not able to turn that into a full-time gig, joined UCF knowing Wentworth was on the way out. However, it does leave a void for a distance coach, but I would expect the head coaching job to be Guarino's if he wants it.
How many assistant coaches did this woman go through? She was seriously hard to deal with - whether you were an athlete or a coach. It is a great school and runners deserve so much better than her.
That's awesome! Why did she get fired/forced resignation? We need to know.
Slow down there pal,I heard Heather Van Norman is their number one pick for the job.
Marcia (please don't refer to her at "coach", that's an insult to real collegiate coaches) was on the chopping block more than once while I was an athlete. I had to meet with the administration more than once regarding her behavior. There is a long list of unethical practices I could speak about, however its water under the bridge and I'm not willing to open up old wounds. I wouldn't speculate just yet about who that job will go to. I would seriously doubt that they hire anyone who was under her no matter their qualification. A clean slate would be best for this program.
That guy Guarino stats are.......well undeserving to even be a assitant D 1 coach at a univ like UCF. That would be a the worse choice from the AD.
Coach Van Norman.....not impressed whatsoever.
This job should go to a stepping up and capable experienced assitant coach willing to take this program where it should be; Somebody hungry for progress and things done right. Rotating head coaching from same conference between schools is ALMOST NEVER PRODUCTIVE......assitants though...different story

In most situations on LETSRUN, when nobody knows the answer, somebody makes one up. Why should this thread be any different?
Why did the coach resign?
Wow, was she really that bad, or is everyone that is posting on this thread just disgruntled (sp)? Like I said, I live in Central Florida (I can see downtown Orlando if I walk outside my house), and yes, the genral consensus among those of us leaving to run in college is that UCF is a joke, we just think (thought) they sucked because they didn't have men's track or something and were, well, right down the street from all of us (Central Florida is where distance runner worth noting, save Joe Franklin, lives); it lacks the exotic feel that most kids seem to want in the college they attend...
So yeah, is it (she) really that bad?
Yes, she really was (is) that bad. When the entire team marches into the AD's office to complain, you know you have a real problem. The last time unfortunately she found a loop hole of how to get out of her "little" problem. Unless you lived this, you will never understand.
Wouldn't suspect that I would. I'll take your word for it though, I guess.
Here's the trouble. You people just spout off without saying anything. It's easy to imply one thing, while saying nothing as all of you have done here. A couple athletes not happy because a coach makes them straighten up does not make the person a bad ocach, rather you a joke of an athlete.
If you have something to say, then say it. Otherwise shut the hell up with this "water under the bridge crap".
Also, the person saying John Guarino has the job knows nothing. The job will be posted on the NCAA site and 200 people will apply as they do with any job. 190 of those applying will have no knowledge of DI coaching and think they are the best qualified because they took an over achieving high school athlete to a high level. The job will go to one of the 10 that apply and have the right background for DI coaching.
Man, you people are clueless and think you have all the answers.
You should have been kicked off the team before you became an UCF Alum.
Here's your problem...

A football lover who showed up on the scene last year and wants to spend millions on a new stadium.
They may bump up the Asst. Coach, who has only been there three years coaching Sprints, but they will need to bring in a distance Coach even if only as an Assistant because they already have a woman for throws and one who is helping the jumpers.

We will see what happens for the team at C-USA in Houston.
"lacks the exotic feel"-Florida?
This school looks like a resort..leisure pool, etc spoil their students. I could see how Orlando HS kids want to get a way to a different environment though.
-Guarino I think would do a great job
-Placencia at Colonial High could be a candidate but I'm just throwing a name out there also Coach Slaven and Coach Voknin at UT are definitely qualified if they wanted to leave the University of Tampa. Anyone in Florida would know these guys.

It sounds like she should have gotten rid of ya'll. The real problem is when smart ass runners think they know everything and don't want to take orders from a female coach. That's too bad for you. If you'd just train instead of blaming everything on someone else, like the coach then maybe it would have been different. I will bet the new coach cleans house in a big way. Buy, buy lazy man. Good thing you graduated.
Coach Voknin at UT was aSouth Florida when Bramen was there. I knew Bramen would work into this somehow.
I'm gonna have to say, that if Ms. Marcia is the wife of Mr. Wentworth (sp), who works at 'Steeple Timeing,' then any one who calls her a bad person is, infact, a bad person.
