Did Matt Gonzales take some time off or has he been hurt?

http://www.kxly.com/index.php?story_id=10788The women's wheelchair division produced a shock winner. Amanda McGrory of Champaign, Illinois, participating in her first Bloomsday, was the easy winner of the race. But Bloomsday officials didn't know she had won the race until after she had crossed the finish line.
Uh, don't you usually have to wait for someone to cross the finish line before declaring them the winner?
