What have people's experiences been with returning to dry land running after extended periods of aqua running due to injury?
How long did it take you to return to pre-injury form, and how do you think that related to the volume and intensity of work you did in the pool?
All the scientific research elsewhere and anecdotal evidence here seems to indicate that if you go hard in the pool you'll keep up your fitness. But the anecdotal evidence hinted that the transition back to dry land could feel awkward -- aerobically strong, but legs unused to the pounding and turnover. Just wanted to hear what people had experienced, and how they re-introduced dry land training.
I'm more interested in hearing from adult runners, rather than high school or early college, as I think the stories of PRs after injuries at that age can be to do with natural growth. I don't have that at 32 ...
Thanks for any and all replies!
