Rumor has it that something big went down at NAIA powerhouse, Virginia Intermont...somethhing that required their coach to tell the runners today, "after practice, we'll start looking at schools to transfer you to."
Anyone know what's going on!?

Yes someone from VIC wrote this....SHUT UP!!!!!!!
I'm not from VIC, nor do I run for a NAIA school. I'm just curious...
That's erroneous we didn't even have practice today.
Sentence correction...That's erroneous we didn't have practice today. Disregard the first post.
Today was our off day, we are "on your own" every Wed. there is nothing going on here. Unless you were at some meeting that I was not told about there is no truth to this. This must be some gossip by a member of a team we have beat 3 years in a row at nationals. We'll be back next year, not to worry boys!

that's not what local newspapers are saying...
What local paper are you refering to and what article?
I attend school here, I am on the team. If there was a meeting today about transferring I would know about it. I dont read the local newspapers, I prefer to read more global articles than the Bristol Herald Courier provides. I know the situation at VIC and it is not serious, no one is transferring and we will all be back next year. If you have a link to this local paper article post it, Id love to see it as would the rest of the board obviously. Im sure comments about Kenyans being the reason we need to shut down will start up soon right? Let this go, rumors of a meeting are bullshit...
Virginia Intermont Money Problems
Virginia Intermont College has been a place of higher learning since 1884 when it was a teachers college. One hundred fourteen years later, the school is trying to solve a critical financial situation.
"We go through cycles of prosperity, good times and times when we are in urgent need, and this is one of those times when we are in need,” said Michael Puglisi, Virginia Intermont College President.
More than 900 students go to V-I-C, but unless there's a change soon, this historic college may not be here in the future. President Michael Puglisi revealed the scope of the school's financial problems Tuesday night.
"We have not issued faculty contracts for next year because in good faith we can't issue a contract that we can't guarantee," Puglisi said.
Virginia Intermont's President won't say how much money the school needs in order to get back on track and offer faculty contracts. On Wednesday morning many students said they were concerned, but they have confidence that leaders of this historic college will find a way to keep it here in the future.
"I don't want to leave the school because I've been here 3 years and I like the faculty and everybody I work with and all the students," Erik Fry said.
School officials hope the community will help and play a big role in keeping Virginia Intermont open for years to come.
Well, wow wow we wa... you posted the articles, I had never seen these actually. I better go pack my bags and transfer to another school I guess, its all over! Read the articles, it no where says the school is closing. This has happened every year for the past 10 years, and each year the school comes back. Hell, each year of the past three, VIC has had to reload and still win the natl. title. No meeting, no transfers, all is fine...
Deny it up and down if that's the party line.
But not offering your faculty contracts is a HUGE deal. That means, LOOK ELSEWHERE.
I heard they didn't pay their assistant coach last fall after making him move a long way to get there and Simmons didn't do anything. Virginia Intermont and coach Simmons are damn lucky they haven't been sued. You might want to let this thread die now Boobster.
A signed contract between the two parties presented to a judge would be sufficient to clarify a situation such as this.
thanks Duquette!
not trying to start trouble, but why does duquette hate simmons so much? i am looking at page 121 of simmons' book and it seems like they enjoy each others' company. the kid obviously had a good career at VIC....why the hostility now? it's such a shame. it should not be that way. when you coach a kid who is so successful and his career is over you should be friends forever.
bump
Thanks Duquette! why don't you go ask Coach Simmons! -Maybe you could go for a horse ride together!
Duquette is bipolar. That is why he doesn't like Simmons. He feels like he got screwed over when he was the one who screwed up.
