The girl from Woodbridge set the CA sophmore record last year at the CA state meet in about 4:41 I forget her name. She was dominate in cross country but didn't run the footlocker meet this year. Could be a good race between them two if they both stay healthy and race the 1600 at state. The other girl Kosliski(sp?) should be in the mix too.
Here's a pic of both of them:
http://www.ocregister.com/newsimages/sports/2006/06/06_hstrack_lrg.jpgAlex Kosinski - Oak Ridge HS (hip #2)
Christine Babcock - Woodbridge HS (hip #4)
Alex Kosinski supposedly split 4:40.xx on Oak Ridge's 11:51 DMR at Stanford yesterday.
I was at the meet today. Jordan ran 69 + 3 X 70 and looked like she was jogging. Second place was 5:11. Weather was perfect.
By the way, her time was a SOPHOMORE national record, not an overall national record.

Again, it IS a "national federation" record, but for all the HS girls miles/1600s ever, it's #8.
OK, yes, that too.
When do you think the sub-4 hype will start?
Plummer qualified for OT's a couple years and had a pretty long career and a decently high level.
In her own words: www.sanluisobispo.com/mld/sanluisobispotribune/sports/17010182.htm
Is she faster than Brian Sell was in HS?
Maybe she'll run a 2:10 marathon too.
Damn that's pretty crazy improvement for Sell.
In 1998:
5000 meters
Brian Sell (Messiah), 15:17.18
In 2001:
5,000 meters Brian Sell SFPA 14:26.28
What could she run if pushed? 4:35? And to think that the 3200 is usually her better event- the HS National record could be toast this year.
way to go!...not to throw a wet blanket on her long term future, but she broke the 22 year old record of a Laura Matson of Bloomfield Hills Andover, Michigan; and the fact that I don't know who that is, must mean that she crashed and burned out in college or even before that? Anybody know? Let's hope Jordan can be the next Mary Decker and not another young phenom that disappears when they physically turn from a girl to a woman.
Well, it helps that she is obviously not an ED case (like so many fast HS girls have been) and that she has a very competent coach who is always thinking of the long term.
I like her effort! wrote:

she'd beat me if i was wearing the milers.
id like to race her when shes wearing a good rubber plate, and im wearing an aggressive plate. then she would have the upper hand/advantage.
it would be fun to race her.
I actually hope you were smoking something when you posted that.

what is an 'ED case'?....not sure of the term.
ed...eating disorder, to stay thin.
if she's running well now then who's to say she'll be running well almost 3 months from now at nationals? i dont think she will be. on tha other hand tauro and others will be building up to that time. she might be fast now but who cares if youre ont fast at nationals.

Hasay isn't running the 1600m at state. She is only defending the 3200m. Even with Hasay out, it'll still be a solid race with BABCOCK (Woodbridge), Kosinski, and Murakami all returning from last year's exciting finish.
