M. Night Shyamalan's The Village
M. Night Shyamalan's The Village
I have to agree about the ending of the first Lord of the Rings movie, and again, the fact that it's just like the book is not an excuse. I realize yeah, there was going to be a part two and three, but after sitting through three hours there is NO kind of resolution whatsoever. Even in Star Wars or X-Men triologies, SOMETHING gets resolved after each one.
Monty Python's Holy Grail. By far.
The departed while a good movie did have a very bad ending. There was really no resolution to the film at all and there is no way that Leo's character who had been so careful and well thought out for 2:15 of the movie would have let his guard down in the elevator like that especially after he had come across that guy on the roof 2 minutes earlier. It just didn't make sense.

No resolution? Pretty tidy resolution, actually.

OK, kind of a happy ending. They should have gone over the cliff alot sooner.
The Leo in the elevator thing in The Departed made plenty of sense. Not even Damon knew there was a second inside guy.
Besides, when we talk about "the ending," I think we mean something even later. Which I thought was perfect.
the descent. terrible.
Read the BOOKS! (good grief)
Return of the Jedi with Luke, Han, Leia, Yoda and ObiWan's ghost aura boogeying with the Ewoks around the bonfire.
Look...it's pretty obvious by now that people are not accepting "read the books" as an excuse for the total non-ending of the first Rings movie. A book is not a movie.

What are you, a hobbit who's an expert on 8 year olds? Sorry to cut down your favorite movie. Maybe they'll make some more for you.
It was a spectacular movie until the last 10 minutes... then it just sucked. I was SO disappointed. I'm still disappointed. Oh well.

This was my immediate reaction as well. I can now find the humor in it, but at the time, I was a little disgusted and felt short-changed. Before completing the script, I think the writers may have been sacked.

And now Distance guy, who was resposnible for sacking the writers, has been sacked.
Rocky V.... if it werent for the lame street fight at the end, I don't think it would be such a bad movie. Take away the ending and its better than that peice of shit "Rocky Balboa"
Smokin'Aces was bad but was made worse with an ending that showed that there was no point to everything that preceded the ending.
The Departed and Munich went the same route really. A lot of effort by the characters just to have almost everyone killed off with no fruits of their labor.
SOMETHING should be accomplished by the end of a movie.
