Tauro won the girls HS mile. The Lynx entrant proved that she didn't belong, gotta love the politics involved there. Do you think Barton from Newton North is pissed that she got passed over because of the Lynx chick?
takes mother f***in reebok like an hour to post up the goddam results
no, nobody went to the boston indoor games
not quite. they're just behind. like they always are.

No.
Besides Flanagan, a notable performance of the night (in my humble opinion!) was that of Matt Centrowitz the younger.
So it went like this: gun goes off, junior guy's mile underway. Some guys in front of me were looking for Centrowitz cause, like many, they knew who his dad is, and were naturally curious just how fast running offspring can run. I pointed out he was third to la...oh wait, second to last! So we all settle back in to our watching. A couple minutes tick by. OK, so he was almost dead last for most of the race, and around 3:15 we notice a little movement. From second to last to fourth place, third, second...wow...first! As it turned out, he came in second by quite a bit to Phillips who had a great sprint for the end, BUT it was a very exciting race, and you certainly don't see one like that often. He obviously knows how to race well.
OK. Anyone else have a favorite/almost favorite event of the night?
I really enjoyed seeing Mottram take off in the 3000. Can't say enough good tuff about Flanagan. She might have been a hair faster had she not got stuck behind some lapped runners.

I watched Centro Jr. the entire race. 800m in around 2:07, next to last. Looked extremely relaxed, like he was holding a lot back, while doing this. Next three laps in 1:31, passed the entire field and then kept right on going until he had a 15m lead. Most of the passing was done between 1000 and 1200m. Still relaxed but not holding much back anymore. Last lap 32 and dying on the vine as the Texas kid reeled him in, but no one else could. Fascinating stuff that you don't usually see in a race, much less a high school race. He definitely "made the race," alas you know what often happens to the person who fills that role. Personally I would have waited a little longer to go steaming into first, but it's a small quibble at best. Hard to argue with a 4:10 indoor mile for a high schooler no matter how it's run. Kudos to him.
