I thought the race conditions were excellent. I ran the 5k. Overcast means no glare or squinting eyes, absolutely no wind, and the temp was great.

You may want to use that phrase in a proper context next time.

This course is definitely legit. I actually ran the course in 1:05 on a training run once. I would have ran faster but I kept falling down on the banked turns. Although, i did finish strong on that last downhill 5 miles with the wind to my back. That course is so fat I felt like I was running the whole thing on hot coals w/ the police chasing me.
P.S. I've never been to Houston, but factors such as these play a huge part in a road race that is not very popular. There are atleast a couple countries full of athletes who are superior to Hall. I'm a fan of him, but you posters who take things over the top, often sour my taste.
Definitely re-measure the course BUT 1:02:30= 28:30 10K. Does ANYONE doubt that Fasil and Meb can run 28:30 in good conditions on any given occasion?
Hall was just out there.

You're seriously out of your league debating me on the meaning of "res ipsa loquitur." Now get back to Fox News. We don't want to clutter up your head with any facts or ideas that might conflict with your preconceptions.

Oh man, check out these results. 9 of 14 set season or personal bests in this race. We should definitly measure the course.
That's nothing. I'll bet at least 99% of the finishers in Houston ran season's bests today.
question...how many halfs had all these guys who set prs ran before? its easy to set a pr in a better suited race when youve only ran one before. Non of the guys who had ran the most halfs prd it seems.

curious results--why can't one question these things???
There is nothing wrong with questioning these things. The USATF questions every course where there is a record set, and that's why they remeasure them.
We'll find out for sure soon enough.

Two thoughts: 1. I volunteer to validate the course. 2. The former West Vice-Chair of RRTC/USATF, Tom McBrayer, lives w/in the marathon loop & probably initially measured the course. It's very likely long enough.
A bonus 3rd thought: remember, this is the same Ryan Hall who ran a sub-58 US record 20 km last fall. The man can run.
My 205 had the course at 26.22 (this is after Iloaded it into SportsTrack and it used the map to adjust the distance).
