My views on war come more from a religious backround then anything else. Do you think Jesus would go bombing another country if two sides were fighting eachother? Or better yet, do you think he'd hit someone back if they hit him? I don't believe that by killing others, they will stop killing. Imagine this: There's a bully beating up kids, so I go beat the sh*t out of him and tell him to stop. What happens? Popular American belief says the bully will stop and be sorry, he'll think about the wrongs he does, then they'll make a Disney movie out of it. When the truth is the bully hasn't begun yet, even worse he made have gotten some bully friends. It's called REVENGE. It's war-fuel (I.E. Pearl Harbor, 9/11, The Alamo etc etc). You say I would speak differently of War if it were a matter of life or death, yeah I CAN and DO speak from that perspective. I have family in the War, I have friends in the war. They could die. Just because someone is killing another man does NOT give the right for us to kill someone. That's still a sin, and is in EVER world. It's funny how Christian the US attempts to be, even with the Christian images on the dollar etc. Ever hear a Pearl Jam song called "evolution", it's funny hearing Vedder mock US society by saying "I can Kill cause' in God I trust". Why does the US feel that it's ok to kill people who are killing? That makes the US just has bad as those are killing before they even arrive... This is why their will never be world peace, because too many people think the only way for peace is to bomb. Basically, to bully someone into quietness. If someone beat you up and told you to shut up, would you? Or would you get them back? This is why the US will always have someone after them, and funny as it is, American wonder "Why do other countries hate us?".
Also, it's funny reading many of your agruements about how the US is just so great and would never do anything wrong. All these other countries NEED the US and can't survive without the US. It's funny because that's exactly how someone would view the US if all they did was read a history book and watch tv. The media distorts soo much truth it's rediculous. I can bet all of your arguements you got your information from the tv or some history book "Completly Factual" history book of course... I've said it once, and I'll say it again, it's best to bring knowledge of BOTH SIDES of the spectrum to understand the situation, instead of just believing everything you read in a history book or see on tv.
You're only hearing/reading ONE SIDE OF THE CONFLICT - try seeing it from another point of view - one that isn't soo American, then maybe you'll understand WHY so many foreigners dislike America.
