Is Cabada better than Ritz?

Hall will drub Cabada while he's smoking Ritz if they all show up for XC.

I remember readin a couple months ago in an interview with Cabada he was planning on leaving simmons and moving to bouldar to train with Hudson. His rationale was something like he felt he was as good as he was going to get training by himself under simmons' system and he wanted to train with the best americans.

Anyone else hear about this?

Actually, I read it, but considering that he's gotten better while still training under Simmons pretty much renders it completely moot.

Cabada did say that he was going to train in Boulder with Hudson's group, but I don't think that has happened, yet. Hudson said in an interview recently (on Paul McMullen's trackradio) that his group will be announcing some new arrivals to the training group, so maybe Cabada is still planning on it, but maybe not. Who knows? All I know is that I would love to see Hall, Ritzenhein, and Cabada have it at USA Cross Country nationals. I suspect Dobson, with his recent running success, Abdirahman, and Jorge Torres would mix things up as well. Here is who i think would finish top ten:

2. Hall

3. Abdirahman

4. Torres

5. Tegenkamp

6. Cabada

7. Dobson

8. Hartmann

9. King

10. Gabrielson

All things being equal, Torres will spank Abdi in the altitude of Boulder. In fact, I would think that Torres is the favorite to win it, as he did not have to deal with a fall marathon to interrupt his training.

First of all, it seems like so many peope think that both Cabada and Ritz are better than they really are, and they have their own followers who worship them. Personally, I think Ritz has more talent and Cabada just has more balls. Ritz has ran better than Cabada in the shorter distances - 10k and below, but Cabada is obviously very good at the long stuff. Neither one has raced enough half marathon + races to determine who is better. Also, it is too early to tell how good Cabada will really be at this point. He has certainly made some dramatic improvements in the past couple years. If Ritz could ever stay healthy long enough to make the consistent improvemnts he is capable of there is no doubt that he would be much faster. I\'m just not sure why everyone keeps comparing Cabada and Ritz when they will probably both get beat by another American once they face off in a big race.

Ms. "correction" has deep-seated control issues which sem from the way her mother treated her. A serviceable Laconian therapist is recommended at this point.

One of the problems of Mr. Ritz has been his lack of focus and training on a single race or distance. In the past year he's run 3K, 5K, 10K track, 10K road, 10K cross, 1/2 marathon, and marathon. The bright side is that he's been decent in all of them! If he would concentrate on the 10K, he'd have the AR by 2008.

On Training In Bristol, Virginia??“I am finally happy with my running and not just that, but my life too. I went to all of those colleges and had a rough time. But when I came to VIC (Virginia Intermont College) everything started to work out for me. I feel like I have finally found a home right here in Bristol and I am comfortable here.”

The Marathon??“I am running the Fukuoka Marathon on December 3rd. That’s where all the Americans used to go to run fast in the 1970s and ‘80s and I wanted to do my own thing and not go to Chicago and go wherever everyone else is going to go. The people who tell me about dying in a marathon are not the American Record holder. I am going to just go out at 5:00 per mile pace with no surges or nothing. I feel like it will feel comfortable and I should be OK.”
