A: No.
now if that isn't a compelling, well reasoned argument, then no such thing exists.
Ritz is better than Cabada because he has beaten him 100% of the time in head to head competition. Now Lornah Kipligat versus Cabada is a different story.

I also think that if you say 2 out of 3 you get a better sampling. For the record Cabada has never beat Ritz in any race for any distance head to head. Cabada has lost to Lornah Kiplagat at both Steamboat and World 20k in Hugary. So currently we do not know about the Ritz vs. Cabada showdown. We do however have a definite answer in the Cabada vs. Lornah Kipligat showdown
Meb lost to so many people at NYC, by the way, so I'd stop the silliness.
Ha ha ha. I couldn't agree with the Jock Sniffer more. Bigfoot2, I can tell that you really take the 'injustice' of the shoe contract and money VERY personally. And you should, because it really does have a lot to do with you and your beliefs. It is absolutely INSULTING and OUTRAGEOUS, and you shouldn't stop posting until all of the corporations hear you and this TRAVESTY is righted. You're a tool. get a life.

Silliness? Name all of the people that have beaten Meb twice. One time may be a fluke. Two times represents a pattern.
Fernando could care less about the World 20k. It was simply a chance to travel and have a good time. He earned the trip and not even General Latimer could keep him off of the team. Fernando came home with some wicked stories about the trip. So what if he didn't race well. He was in the middle of his marathon training anyway and that seemed to go just fine. So quit all the hatin.

He has disgraced himself and the uniform of our great country. Now he only dares to race overseas because he knows that if he showed his face around here, patriotic Americans would take matters into their own hands.

Small correction:
13:16.71 and 27:35.65 are his PRs.
Did Ritz also disgrace the uniform in the biggest of dances? Dont be so dense.
This (the american debut list from another thread provided by letsrunners) might shed some light on the issue:

I think we should start a George Malley vs Ritz thread, dont you?

question was asked, and no answer worth considering was given.
Do you think Cabada is better than Meb right now?
I think Cabada could beat all of our American's right now in the 10k-marathon and anything in between.
He's a very talented runner, and his potential has yet to be tapped.
Cabada would have run 2:15plus in New York.
Ritz is better so far, but lets see who recovers
the best from a tough marathon.
is Cabada better than ritz...no
ritz has better prs at every distance under the marathon and both his 5000 and 10000 are more impressive than cabadas 2:12
however cabada right now is the better marathoner and i would say his fukuoka performance is more impressive than rits run at NYC
odds are ritz will be a better marathoner than cabada all factors indicate that he has more talent and the debut is rough for most people, but right now i would call cabada the better marathoner
ritz is the better runner though
There is a problem with this question.
Ritz is not a marathoner, never was. Cabada is better at these longer distances and good for the marathon.
Ritz is a special runner and an underachiever. Cabada is a special runner who is achieving his potential.
Cabada's is a wonderful story of perserving through tough situations, and even though his comments sometimes come off sounding cocky, I don't think he cares too much about this argument.
For the sake of the argument, so far he has only shown that he is about the same level as Ritz at long distances (half 'thon - 'thon), and not nearly as good at shorter distances. I think we are talking about 13:30 / 28:20 vs. 13:15 / 27:35. I don't know FC's 5k best for sure though. Ritz has also been NCAA and USATF XC champ. If Ritz would have paced more cautiously he would have run 2:12:27 easy on a tougher course than Fukuoka. He tried to go for a big time on his first marathon and hit the wall.
PS
It's not disgracing your country to go out and try to compete, then hit the wall. It is if you don't take representing your country seriously.
Boys. boys, boys,
Just relax. Both these young men have yet to prove themselves on the international stage. When either one of them wins something of merit then we have something to talk about. "Who is the best great white hope of american distance running?" is a desparate discussion. Let the boys train and develop.
