One of the funniest posts ever!!!!
One of the funniest posts ever!!!!
"Anyway, I have to admit that the whole event was pretty awkward."
Thank you, Trollie!
trollie made me day!
I'd tell the co-worker that you worship Dean and would like to suck his 14 inch cock. That should end the conversation nicely.
It's scary how many lives have been ruined by this character. There must be thirty on this thread, alone.
Trollie- loved it!

Yeah my penguin boss at the job I left... he is doing NYC too and is jacked up. Its like Hoopin it w/ MJ. He's a big LA fan too.
Agreed on the CNBC talking heads - my dad is a stockbroker and can't stand Suze or Cramer. But I love Crame-dogs!
Booooooooooyaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!
Not sure why people always slam those who teach to beginners. Your dad is an expert, so perhaps Orman's preaching isn't needed by him. The same is true for most people here. Most posters here are experts about running (and I'm not being facetious...compared to the general public, most of us here are experts about running), so we don't need Penguin help or Galloway help.
Beginners are the people who need instruction. I teach rock and blues keyboard (piano) lessons on the side, and most of my students are (gasp!)...beginners. I have to tell them to flat the 3rd to make a minor chord and when to use a minor pentatonic scale and when to use a major pentatonic scale, but an experienced player would get no value out of what I tell those beginners...BUT...THEY ARE BEGINNERS!!!
Anyone who is offended by the basic information given out by someone for money really is just jealous I think that they didn't think of it first.
Computer training companies, music lessons, tax advice, how to make chicken kiev, and on and on. 95% of those lessons are given to people who have no clue how to do it, and so you teach at a basic level. To get mad about that seems odd to me.
And you sounded like a total jealous d ick in the process.
Listen, the best response is just a "Yeah, wow, can you be-lieve that." and go on, maybe then try to talk about how fast Meb or Snell ran at Chicago.
When you dog out DK, you just sound like a jealous fool.
It's substance over style. Some of us still think that is important
What is it about distance runners that make most of them such knobs? I can only assume that most of the replys on this thread have come from 18-25 yr old kids with nothing but time to run. Some day they'll have real jobs and real families (and all that comes with them) to contend with. Hopefully then they'll have a better feel for why some people run to finish. I'm a life-long competitive runner who ran into the brick wall I described earlier, and , believe me, that is a huge gut=check time. I now have my day made by a 16:30 5k rather than a 14:13. But I have a wife and 2 daughters who think I'm a running God. And guess what? If thety think I am, then I AM! Everybody has their reasons for running. You don't have to like that- you just have to accept it.
Do you tell your family that you are a running god? Probably not. This is why a lot of runners don't like Dean. I'm happy for the guy if he can make a living out of running but he is an ass. In the RW interview he just totally blew off the guy (can't remember his name) that just finished the 50-50-50 thing. He made some comment like the guy was trying to steal his glory. Dean was not the first runner to do this type of event so it's not the big deal he's making it out to be.
screw you guys, you're all just jealous. Everyone who runs Dean's marathons loves them...you're jealous you're not as hot or as fast as Dean!
Trollie, great post! Very funny stuff. You have way too much time on your hands to be dreaming up stuff like that.
All of you runners need to pull your pompous head out of your arses and be happy that DK has brought some publicity to the sport of running when no one else has.
I have 10 friends who were inspired by the DK story (though his 50-50-50 marathoning and and have now become runners themselves. Isn't this what we as runners want for the sport? I'm a sub 3hr marathoner and I think its great. He's a new Pre, new frank shorter, new billy mills, and he caters to the larger running population...not just the fast few.
I'll admit, DK is a bit annoying by his "over-chessiness", but i think many of the comments are said out of jealousy that you didnt beat him to the marketing punch.
And furthermore...how many of you could jog 350 miles non-stop...no one. That's quite an accomplishment
No one asks. Who gives a (bleep)?

You just ruined your whole post right here...
I was with you too, until then...
Do you know his qualifications for a "non-stop run?"
It is not sleeping. He can stop, he can rest, he can walk, he can sit on the curb for an hour.
I have no problems with the guy, but don't go claiming he runs 350 non-stop, that is bullshite.
has brought some publicity to the sport of running???
What kinda lie is that?!?! Talented runners bring lots of publicity. Recent examples are Ryan Hall, Lagat and Mottram, not to mention Dibaba, Defar, and Flanagan.
Mediocre runners like Lance at NY may have brought more publicity than DK. Even though that was Dean's last marathon of his 50-50-50, and he ran 3:00.xx, there was not tv coverage of a single step of his during the marathon. How long was Lance on camera???
Non runners like Oprah probably bring more publicity!!
PS - Trollie, thanks for one of the best posts ever. I hope it won Post of the Year for last year....
