Another encouraging performance. Even allowing for great conditions, just look at being 3-4 minutes behind the top 3 who are 2:02-3 guys. We’ll see where Klecker goes next but I think he’s now in the 2:07 fitness on a flat, loop course and improving.
Apparently ran his last mile in about 4:30, so probably had more in the tank to give. Definitely think he can be in contention at the trials in a few years.

Berlin marathon in September? He could run 2:04-2:05 there
Joe backed up a solid race at NYC with another good performance today, I'm happy for him. That last mile a bit weird though, why have that much left in the tank? Did he lose focus in Newton? I'll be interested to hear either he or Dathan comment on his finish.

Might have answered my question with what he just posted on Strava. Basically saw the clock and realized he could run sub 2:06 and took off.
"Only saw halfway split and 25 mile split. Thought the clocks were broken when it looked like I was gonna run 2:05. Had a cramp at mile 9 after my bottle and had to jog for about 400 meters, thought my day was done. On paper this was a breakthrough but I never felt particularly good or like I was having a great day. Marathon 2 in the books"

Impossible/ i don't believe him. I've repeatedly been told on this site the only way to truly run fast is knowing your pace literally every step of the way via wavelight technology. 🙄🤦♂️

No he won't. He just ran a windaided Boston in 2:05 high, no way that translates to 2:04-5 in Berlin. All due respect to Klecker though.
