I’m training for the 400/800 and I wanted some feedback on my summer training plan. For context, I ran my first 400 and 800 indoors this year and I ran 54.5 and 2:10.
Monday - Long Run (25% of weekly mileage) + Lift
Tuesday - Easy Run + Strides
Wednesday - Lactate Threshold Workout (Repeats of 1k-1 mile in length)
Thursday- Easy Run + Strides + Lift
Friday - Extensive Tempo + Speed Endurance Workout
Saturday - Sprints + Easy Run + Lift
Sunday - Rest
Total Mileage: 30-35 miles/week
Sample Week
Monday - 8 miles + Lift
Tuesday - 5 miles + Strides
Wednesday - WU + 4x1 mile + CD
Thursday - 4 miles + Strides + Lift
Friday - 5x400 @70% + 4x150 @95%
Saturday - 5x50m Sprints + 3 miles easy + Lift
Sunday - Rest
Total Mileage: 30 miles
