Been running 30-40 miles per week most weeks since graduating college, in which I ran up to 70 mpw. Took some time off to address an injury - a month. During the time I worked on rehab and strengthening, and somehow gained 17 lbs and an inch or so in height. After being 6'0 156 for a few years, I am now 6'1.5 and 174 lbs. I have gotten back up to 40 mile weeks with the hopes of returning to the same volume and intensity I had in college, though since my weight gain running is a bit more difficult - particularly on my calf muscles. I am now also able to lift significantly more in the gym.
Any advice for me? I have never gained weight like this before no matter how much I ate and lifted in the past, so this is all new. Can I expect weight to come back down when my volume and intensity goes up, or does weight even matter? Lifetime PRs (two years ago at 22 y/o)
