For an 800 runner.
What type of speed should you run training 600s as far as percentage of your personal best pace (if you can describe it like that?)
Lets say you have a 2:00 flat 800 athlete in high school. In terms of different volumes, different types of 600 sessions.
If they do 2x600 in training, how fast? race pace? or faster?
If they do 4x600 how fast? Slower than race pace? how much slower?
If they do 6x600 how fast? or slow?
If you want to answer with specifics for time of year, season, purposes or recommended rest times, indoor/out etc I'd appreciate any input please. If you dont like 600 then make it 400 and go from there (2x400 or 4x400, or 6x400). It just gives me an idea of how more volume vs less interacts with speed of pace. I'd like to get an idea.
