He is great for the sport. It takes a certain level of confidence and ego to be the best in the world, some people will say what they think and others will keep to them self. You all complain when someone will not talk to the media or are to soft when they do. Many of you love PRE for many of the same things Jacob is doing.
Have any of you played another sport? The amount of trash talking that happens during a high school football or basketball game can be relentless.
Questions for those that dont like him…just basic basic questions.
1. Do you consider yourself a “fan” of track and field?
2. Have you ever wondered why more people dont watch track?
3. Do you wish more people did watch track?
4. Are you fans of other sports?
5. In those other sports, is it good to have characters? What I mean by that, is do you think its good to have teams you love, hate, players you love, hate…?
6. Have you ever thought track on tv can be boring? Why?
7. What solutions or ideas can you come up with that would make track really fun and interesting?
8. Would you like it if in other sports there were no tattoos allowed?
9. Would you like it in other sports if none of the athletes were ever arrogant or hyped up a match?
10. Do you think all athletes should wear white, shake hands, have tea, and speak of parliamentary shenanigans ?
Since you are right about everything and know everything, which is awesome, and since you arent hypocritical with sports, tell us all how to do this. Please, how do we make it right? Go!!
People can have opinions about Jacob that don't meet your standards. My interactions with Jacob were terrible and he was defiantly rude.
Maybe I caught him on a bad day, but it's my truth. It wasn't like I went up to Jacob. He come up to me and my athlete. It was two years ago though and didn't get bothered by it, but I won't discount every negative posts because someone likes him.
How is being defiantly rude, different than being rude?

Arrogance seems to be a Norwegian trait (not limited to Jakob).
“Mar 18, 2012 — Norwegians are well known to be nasty, arrogant, cold, snobby, and rude ! They all seem to have this lousy “superiority complex” and put…”
Look at the 2 triathletes (Iden and Blum)
Warholm
Nordas
Henrik
The only Norwegian that I can think of who is not arrogant is perhaps Filip (but he is still no Fisher)
So it’s a whole country filled with Jakobs.
Your definition of arrogance seems a little wide…
F.ex when Warholm won his first WC (2017) he was told he wasn’t the best at all, and responded with a humility he has kept since…
And it’s interesting that you pick Filip (despite your wide definition) as the innocent one -he is the only of the brothers who has been disqualified in a race (yes, twice), f.ex for “shuffling” another athlete, and also the only one endangered losing a medal (for blocking Mechael in WC 2017). Personally I don’t think Filip is arrogant, but your choosing seems uninformed. Are you a little shallow..?
“Arrogance seems to be a Norwegian trait” (you base this on 6 named athletes): Well, I could mentioned 6 soft spoken athletes like Nuguse, Hocker, Kessler, Centro, Monson, Fischer, and thus pose that Americans are soft spoken, and that American culture, politics and sport are “filled with” soft spoken people. -Maybe a stereotype, and maybe not completely true, maybe..?

here's two people in the whole of athletics who I find completely repugnant.
Kipchoge and Jacob.
Both full of false virtuosity and full throttle doping
I like Jakob so much better than Kipchoge. Jakob's not full of false (or genuine) virtuosity at all. He calls it the way he sees it and can't help but engage with all the hype and trash talking. He's a regular competitive dude who has an unworldly work ethic. Kipchoge bought into his own press and engages with no one. Only lofty aspirations to be written out in cursive and sold at Pier 1 or Marshall's.
