i guess you're going to post and repost this til you get the answer you want. to make a team you need to be better than their worst guy. as i said on the other thread, their slowest outdoor time is 1:50. their slowest indoors guy SB was 1:53. as the one poster said, they don't tend to carry a lot of excess runners at D1 for title IX reasons. nor do they tend to run meets on D3 "everyone gets in the meet" principles. so you have to be competitive to start with. if you had some amazing XC time and could make their team maybe they indulge you, but even that poses title IX problems.
here is the deal. you are a senior well into the season. they care about existing times and not aspirational ones. your existing times are over 2:10. until you get below 2 next to no one D1 will care you exist, even the weaker ones. and that's walking on at the weakest teams in the country that are almost D3 level.
again, you are basically a weak D3 runner right now and you are running out of time to do anything about it. your times would be tail end of both the conference i was in and the other few i considered.
TAMU is like one of "the" schools to go to, to run 800, with a team that competes for the national title. they have a well funded football team to stock their sprints. they are in a state where you better be low 1:50s to be in the state final. you are so far off they probably would not even let you try out.
you're not a junior with time. you're a senior who should be applying places that make sense to your current numbers, academic and athletic, as well as desired extracurriculars. if you go to TAMU you can learn all the dorky signals and be a 98%er watching the teams play. you will not be on the team. period. and there doesn't seem to be a club team where you could train in some other way and become "rudy." they will have limited space, cut serious runners who tried out, and not be interested.
if you want to run, go someplace else, and my suggestion is D3 or NAIA. you are out of time to do any "time fix" that doesn't happen within the next month. and as it is we are so deep into applications and admissions you might not be able to apply some other places, or to get coaching help to do so.
it's nice to dream but barring you go run a 2 tomorrow you aren't even D1. without a 1:54 or so TAMU won't care you exist, they have a good team already. right now you wouldn't make the cut at some good D3 that do cut people. you would basically make the teams that take everyone. which is not even meant as a slap so much as to channel this passion where it might possibly be requited. go where you will be wanted unless you just want to watch sports and go to parties at TAMU.
