I'm looking for some solid 5k race workouts for an important 5000m track race I got coming up in 6 weeks. I did a time trial last month and ran a 15:34 off of just base and thresholds and I'm looking at going under 15 min after developing my speed. For context, I'm a freshman in college running 70-80 miles a week with Tuesdays now being my race workout days and Thursdays being my 5-mile threshold run or threshold intervals. After two thresholds a week for base, I can handle 10k work of work and I usually end my workouts with 5 x 300m @ hard effort with 100m walk so I think I'm fit enough to handle high-volume workouts with speed at the end. I'm looking for solid workout ideas to run.
