You can get a reasonable comparison by looking at descending order lists by year. In 2017, which I think was pre super shoes 100th on the NCAA descending order list was 404 and today its 400flat. 1404 was the 100th place time in the 5000 and last spring it was 1349. 4-5 secs a mile or just over a sec a lap is what modern shoes save. In the marathon and half the effect might be a bit more pronounced. Supposedly the vaporfly saved 4% over the nike streak 7 with super responders running as much as 6% faster. The top super shoes theoretically save around 3-4% over the top shoes that existed before them on the roads.
Some people seem to recover faster in modern shoes. I run faster and recover better from training and racing in the old style of shoes, so ultimately its down to whatever works best for you, but prevailing wisdom is to generally use the top shoes on the market right now.
