5K/5 miles is too much to start out with if you're not feeling healthy. It's highly individual - some people are back to normal in 2 days, other people aren't there after 2 years. And it's not linear - you might feel great one day, then feel like garbage for 3 days. Or feel great for 2 weeks and then have a garbage day out of nowhere.
One step at a time. If you're tired, try 2 miles. Or 2 x 1 mile easy. Take more breaks if you need to. Do just enough to get moving without being fatigued the next day. Increase the distance or decrease the rest by feel. You'll feel normal whenever your body decides, not your training calendar.
