First of all, let's keep some perspective. Yes I know Nike sponsors Kipum, and yes I know they have posted on social media about him. But the support they're giving him is the bare minimum required to not draw attention to the fact that they don't want to touch him.
Just another red flag in this whole thing. From a brand who propped Kipchogo up like he was the second coming of christ, and sent him around with a list of Hallmark greeting card sayings to 'inspire the world,' they haven't done squat for Kiptum.
People have accused Kipchoge of doping plenty of times, but Nike makes him seem like Buddha and blasts him across every outlet media outlet with his 'no human is limited' propaganda. I have no stance on either side of the issue; is it good for the sport? Yeah probably. Is it a little silly at times? Sure. But that's not the point. Kiptum (if he is really 23) has the chance to be BY FAR the greatest marathoner we've ever seen, and Nike WILL NOT TOUCH HIM.
Something is off here. What do they know?
